Finding the Best Angle

Photography is often just catching the moment, there may not be enough time to select the best shooting angle - bird photography is such an example.

Sometimes a radical change of your position gives you a view you never imagined existed. When photographing landscapes, walk around and try out the possibilities.

Keep in mind your different focal lengths. Viewpoint and lens are inextricably linked.

At what angle do you normally photograph? - Most people stand up or sit down to take pictures.

For a change, try photographing from above the subject -then try laying down on the ground and shoot from below. Use different lenses, wide-angle and telephoto, these give completely different types of image. An array of new possibilities opens up before you.

For example, the picture  of the Rhino was taken from a wooden bridge. From this angle, the view is unusual.
